Advantages of Travertine Pavers

There are many advantages of using travertine pavers to install to create a very durable patio. Travertine pavers are our unique way to cap your existing concrete patio or can be an excellent choice to use as a building material for a new patio. A big advantage of installing a travertine patio utilizing travertine pavers is that these pavers are much stronger than standard flagstone, and they are almost always installed without large joints. Travertine pavers are typically installed on a reinforced concrete base. The concrete base provides incredible strength, and then adding a naturally strong paver such as travertine makes this patio system one of the most durable patios that can be built. After the travertine pavers have been installed, their joints are typically about 1/8 of an inch and are finished with sand-free grout that can stand up to the freeze and thaw cycle that is common in Northern Virginia.

Types Of Travertine Pavers

Travertine pavers are typically about one and a half inches thick. The most common travertine paver is ivory, but walnut travertine pavers are used in many patios in northern Virginia. Walnut travertine has much more variation in color and ivory. Many patterns are available when installing your travertine paver patio perhaps the most popular is the French pattern which incorporates a wide variety of square and rectangular travertine paver sizes.
